The Name of Jesus

The Name of Jesus

#HeartCheckTuesday: The name of Jesus.

Imagine a soldier in the heat of battle, the noise of tanks, explosions and the sound of bullets whizzing past his head, are the realities around him, his exhaustion begins to take a toll on him as he fights along, through blurry vision, amidst artillery shells exploding in the distance.

From this seemingly disadvantaged position however, he runs into a tower and receives refreshing, and from that vantaged position, begins to rout the enemy till he destroys all of them.

A tower is a fortress or stronghold that forms part of a castle. A stronghold in the sense that it is a place that has been fortified so as to protect it against attack.

Life is a battleground, it is strewn with the plans, schemes and bobby-traps of the devil, and just like the soldier in our story, we can become exhausted and worn out if we do not have a place to retreat, recoop and recover. And thanks be to God, that we have such a place!

The name of Jesus is not just a tower, but a strong tower, that is a fortification beyond fortifications, it is impregnable, it is a sure defense and an answer to whatever the enemy throws at it.

There is nothing in heaven, on earth or under the earth that can challenge the authority in the name of Jesus, everything made material or immaterial is subject to the authority in that name!

Dear Heart Checker, the name of Jesus, is not a cliché, it is a location in the realm of the spirit where you can run to and be sheltered from: the devil, his works and the storms of life, at the name of Jesus, every knee bows, so what is that issue that seems to be towering above you today? Run to the strong tower and watch it melt before your face as you nestle safely in the name of Jesus.
