Too many people have settled into a “pray for me” mindset—living as though prayer is a burden meant only for others to carry on their behalf. They claim to be trusting God for a change of story, yet they do nothing but wait, while the rest of the brethren sweat in prayer for them. But can prayer truly be effective when it’s only one-sided?
Jesus showed us the true model of prayer. He didn’t just tell His disciples to pray for Him; He labored in prayer Himself. In Gethsemane, while He asked them to watch and pray, He was also travailing in agony before the Father. He understood that intercession does not exempt anyone from personal responsibility in prayer. Are Your Intercessors Sleeping While You’r~e Yawning?
You cannot outsource your spiritual breakthrough.
Yes, intercession is powerful. Yes, standing in the gap for others is a kingdom mandate. But intercession was never meant to replace your own personal altar. When people are praying for you, you too must rise and pray.
Some of us wonder why nothing seems to be changing in our lives. Could it be that your supposed intercessors are sleeping while you, too, are yawning? Could it be that the ones who were meant to help you in prayer have grown weary, but instead of joining them in the fight, you have made peace with spiritual laziness?
This is why some remain in the wilderness for years, waiting for a breakthrough that never comes. The era of prayer contractors is over. The days of outsourcing your destiny’s battles are gone. Every man must stand in their place and labor in prayer!
Dear heartchecker, you say you need a turnaround in your family, your marriage, your career, your spiritual life; but where is your altar? Where is your personal burden for the change you so desperately seek? You must stop living casually and start waging war in prayer.
