#TuesdayHeartCheck: ARE YOU BORN AGAIN OR YOU’RE JUST EMOTIONAL
Yesterday, we considered the topic, ‘Are you born again?’
On the contrary, it wasn’t emphatically a message to sinners, but to all; when we say all, we’re referring to the body of Christ as a whole.
When we give our lives to Christ, an exchange occurs.
According to scriptures in 2 Corinthians 5:17, Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!
We give our lives in exchange for the life of Christ, hence we are called a new creation.
New means new, but how come we hear statements like; ‘If you try me, I’ll drop this bible one side and deal with you, then pick it up again’.
This makes Christianity sound like a joke, or a place where you can walk out and walk in at any time because you think it doesn’t matter. Your case becomes an emergency when you’re no longer remorseful over sin.
Dear Heartchecker, you don’t drop your identity to pick it up after misbehaving, you don’t drop your identity to be immoral for a few minutes. By the way, being moral is not the same thing as being born again.
Today’s heart check is for you to probe yourself further. Do you follow the standards of the Lord sincerely, or anything goes? Are you truly born again, or there’s something you were told that Jesus gives, so you’re hanging around. Are you truly born again, or do you just keep being emotional at beautiful meetings!
